Dorothy "Dottie" Louise (Mehay) Dobbins

                        Dorothy “Dottie” Louise Dobbins, 72, of Dugger, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at her home in Dugger.

            She was born on December 15, 1945, in Sullivan County, Indiana, the daughter of Joe Mehay and Geneva Vaughn Mehay. Dottie was a member of Bykota Home Ec Club. 

            She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Darrell Dobbins, three brothers, Larry Eno, Harold Heady, and Kenny Heady, a sister, Ruth Davis, and a grandson Trenton Dobbins.

Survivors include four sons, Joe Dobbins (Debbie) of Dugger, Jeff Dobbins (Danna) of Jasonville, Jon Dobbins of Dugger, and Jason Dobbins (Danielle) of Noblesville, two brothers, Bill Mehay of Wheatfield, Indiana, and Jack Heady (Annalee) of Linton, four sisters, Patty Bean (Chester) of Merom, Terri Heaton (Dave) of Dugger, Barbara Cox of Fort Myers, Florida, and Deanna Roseman of Avon, Indiana, nine grandchildren, Stephanie Dobbins (Doug Huffman), Kristy Halter, Matt Underwood (Jade), Koty Dobbins (Kayley), Tyler Dobbins (Kassie Lawles), Tom Dobbins (Moriah Bowen), Ben Dobbins, Tressie and Bryson Dobbins, seven great-grandchildren, Landon and Rilea Hayes, Nayson Sparks, Olivia and Adelyn Dobbins, and Adalynn and Lucas Underwood, several nieces and nephews, foreign exchange student Gorjan Agevic of Croatia, and best friends, Carolyn Settles, Cindy Shorter, and Marilyn McCammon.

            Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Newkirk’s Funeral Home with Pastor Doris Sparks officiating. Interment will follow in Dugger Cemetery located in. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, April 23, 2018, at Newkirk’s Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requested that memorial contributions be made to Sullivan County Cares.
