Ivy L. Borders, 102 went to be with the Lord Friday, January 26, 2018 at Sullivan Co. Community Hospital.
She was born in Linton, Indiana February 6, 1915, the daughter of George Luxton and Mary Gillies Imrie Luxton.
Ivy was a member of the Dugger Church of Christ, Country Corner Home Ec Club, the Dugger American Legion Auxiliary and a life time member of the Woodland Bible Camp. She was a teacher’s aide at the Linton School and sold Avon for 51 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry Borders December 2, 1976, also four brothers; Roy, William, Thomas and Gerald Luxton, two sisters, Annie Gillies Luxton and Florence Mae Luxton, one grandson, Brent Wayne Borders and a son in-law Steve Goodman.
Survivors include her son, Alan Kieth Borders (Billye Jan) of Linton, and Anita Jean Borders Goodman of Linton, IN, three grandchildren Renee Wiggington, Brock and Bart Borders, five great grandchildren, Darian, Dillion, Madyson, Brayden, and McKenzye.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the Church of Christ in Dugger with Bro. Nick Moore and Bro Buford Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Dugger Cemetery. Visitation will be at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN Monday, January 29, 2018 from5:00 PM until 8:00PM.
