Betty I (Moody) Townsley

Betty I. Townsley, 90, of Dugger, IN went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at the Breckenridge Commons in Sullivan, IN.

            She was born in Sullivan, IN on February 7, 1933 the daughter of James Moody and Burl Wellington Moody. She Married Bobby Lee Townsley on September 3, 1950.

Betty was an active member of the Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Jasonville, IN where she taught Sunday School and assisted in the Christian school for many years.

            She was preceded in death by her parents, also her husband, Bobby Lee Townsley in 2020, and a sister, Sandra Mitchell.

            Survivors include, two sons, Jim Townsley (Janet) of Southington, CT., Luke Townsley (Hannah)  of Seymour, Missouri, a daughter, Terry Keck (Larry) of College Station, TX, a sister, Darlene Noel of Henryville, IN, 13 grandchildren; Jason  Keck (Sandra), Jennifer Wilson (Mike), Amy Parris (Matt), Lisa Wagner(Ronnie), David Townsley (Annette), Jonathan Townsley (Tracy), Elizabeth Schwanke (Barnabas), Sarah Johnson (Paul), Meagan, Benjamin, Andrew, Brianna, and Jubal, 33 great grandchildren; Jacob, Joshua, Jonathan, Josiah, Jed, Faith, Susanna, Sarah, Lucy, Grace Hendrix (Justin), Remmington Wilson (Faith), Madeline, Caroline Wilson, Kate, Donovan, Cullen Parris, Abigail, and Isaiah Wagner, James, Esther, John, Joy, Mary Townsley, Olivia, Anna Townsley, Emma, Isaac, Grace Schwanke, Timothy, Karen, Ethan, Joshua, Charity Johnson, 1 great great  grandchild, Clementine Wilson.

Funeral services will be Friday,  December 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Jasonville, IN with Pastor Jerry Ross, and Pastor Jim Townsley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until Services on Friday.
