Norma Jean (Bailey) Carr

Norma Jean (Bailey) Carr 96, of Dugger, IN went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2023.

She was born December 12, 1927 in Sullivan, IN to Lawrence Bailey and Lucy Stevenson Bailey.

Norma was married to Bill Carr on August 14, 1954.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill Carr in 1985, a sister, Anna Pirtle (Lloyd), an infant sister, Pauline Bailey, a brother, Paul Bailey (Mary), a nephew and his wife, Billy Pirtle (Susie), and a nephew, Kenny Pirtle.

            Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Herb (Bill) of Rosedale, IN, a grandson Rodney Herb (Molly) of Terre Haute, IN, a granddaughter, Kimberly Campbell (Cory) of Marshall, Il, 2 great grandsons, Briar Herb (Katie) of Terre Haute, IN., Levi Herb of Cincinnati, OH , 2 great granddaughters, Chloe Campbell of Terre Haute, and Claire Campbell of Marshall, IL, 2 great great grandsons, Bowen Herb, and Coleson Herb of Terre Haute, IN 2 nieces Betty Horne (Steve) and Vicki Talpas all of of Dugger, IN, and several great nieces,  great nephews and cousins.

Norma graduated from Dugger High School and lived in Dugger, IN her whole life until the last few years. She attended Dugger Church of Christ as a child where she remained a member until her death, and had many good and faithful friends.

            We would like to thank everyone at Harrison Crossing and Heartland Hospice.in Terre Haute, IN for taking good care of her.

            Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN with Bro. Nick Moore and Rev. Bill Herb officiating. Visitation is from 10:00 AM until services at 1:00 PM  on Tuesday. Burial in the Dugger Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dugger Church of Christ. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
