Mary Powell Obituary

Mary Olive Bush Powell, 102 of Sullivan, IN passed away surrounded by her family Thursday October 24, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Sullivan, IN.

            She was born in Brown County Helmsburg, IN September 25, 1917 the daughter James Bush and Susan Ellen (Yockey) Bush.

            Mary was a pastor’s wife, waitress, and homemaker. She was a member of the Church of God out of Cleveland, TN ,and lived her whole life serving Jesus. Her ultimate purpose in life was being a great mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook . She lived at Parkview Terrace for seventeen years and posted an inspirational message on the lobby announcement board every Sunday. Mary was a waitress in many family restaurants, one of her favorite hobbies was competing in target practice with her son Allen.

            She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Luther Allen Powell, one brother, James Bush, one sister, Dorothy Bush, one grandson, Mark Ivy, one granddaughter Baby Linda Darlene, one son-in-law, Jack Hollifield, two great grandsons, Jacob Michael Eagleson, Gerran Taylor Wilkes, and one great granddaughter, Whitney Michelle Snapp.

            Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Hollifield (Bill) of Sullivan, IN and Nancy Shipley (Gary) of Sullivan, IN fourteen grandchildren, Lyndale Ivy, Phillip Ivy (Brenda), Leticia Maxey (Chad), Josaun Powell, Sharon Fugate Ford (Ron), Lana Powell (Mark West), David Powell (Jennifer), Joseph Powell (Rebekah), Ryan Powell (Kylee), Michelle Zimmerman (Nathan), Kimberly Snapp (Kevin), Brandy Lambermont (Ben Boyd), Travis Huddleston (Amanda), Mika Followell, Kenneth Burton Jr., Chad McCammon, Jeremy Salesman Jr., nineteen great grandkids, David Ivy (Anna), Phillip Ivy, Jeremy Ivy, Kevin Ivy (Hailey), Chance Hollifield (Kaila), Jackie Isbell (George), Blake Ford, Zakk Ford, Jason Ford (Amber), Daniel Ford, Anna Loftis, Dylan Powell, Dalton Powell, Kallie Powell, Lincoln Powell, Jack Powell, Zowie Padgett, Zane Padgett, Amelia Powell, Briar Powell, Pixie Powell, Meagan Roberts (Johnny), Shane Herron, Joshua Eagleson (Veronica), Nichole Mann (Kyle), Caleb Eagleson (Lynda), Nathaniel Eagleson (Chea), Brittany Eagleson, Jacob Zimmerman, Kendra Auricchio (Robby), Tyler Snapp, Kiersten Trotter (Travis), Chelsa Henderson (Ian), Jesylan Lambermont, Bron Lambermont, Jordan Huddleston, Michael Huddleston, Bianca Huddleston, forty six great-great grandchildren, Dylan, Alaina, Amelia, Teagan, Savannah, Jonathan, Khanna, Maelee, Chevy, Jaxon, Ayden, Lexi, Summer, Malakai, Jeffery, Makayla, Kameran, Kaydan, Lane, Lincoln, Maddox, Cara, Eli, Ashlynn, Nihkenzie, Brynlee, Teygan, Dexter, Izabelle, Lylah, Darius, Everett, Elliannah, Greyson, Garrick, Aurora, Lilly, Kevin, Waylon, Taylor James, Lucas, Liam and her very good friend Texana Valdez.

            Funeral services will be held at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN on Monday October 28, 2019 at 2:00 P.M., with the pastor Joshua Eagleson officiating. Visitation will be Monday 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Mt Moriah Cemetery in Dugger, IN.
