Phillip Whitt Obituary

Phillip Warren Whitt, 76, of Linton, IN passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

            He was born in Sullivan, IN May 27, 1944 the son of Alva Whitt and Rachel Hildenbrand Whitt.

            Phillip graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1962  was a member of the Mt Zion Church of Christ and retired from Peabody Coal Mine, he was also a farmer.

            He was preceded in death by his parents.

            Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Cheryl Watt Whitt whom he married on December 7, 1963, two sons; Kevin Whitt of Linton, IN, T.J. Whitt (Joy) of Carlisle, IN, two daughters; Beth Ann Hassell (Jeffrey) of Skidmore, TX, Sharon Goen (Rich Collins) of Carlisle, IN, two brothers; Russell Whitt (Karen) of Pleasantville, IN, Ron Whitt (Barb) of Cumberland, IN, a sister, Karen Brown (Dan) of KY, 6 grandchildren; Tabitha Dickerson, Megan Goen, Katie Goen, Jack Whitt, Harper Whitt and Willow Whitt, one great granddaughter, Morgon Dickerson.

            Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday July 3, 2020 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN with Doug Hathaway officiating. Burial in the Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until services Friday.
