Barbara J (Lockhart) Killian

Barbara J. Killian, 78 of Linton, IN passed away Thursday May 18, 2017 at Glenburn Home.

Barbara was born on November 8, 1938 in Sullivan County, IN, the daughter of Dova Lockhart and Rosie Benton Lockhart. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Newberry, IN and also helped with Jobes Daughters. Barbara retired from General Electric in 1994 when the plant closed in Linton, IN she also worked at Home Health Care after working at G.E. She loved spending time outdoors, working in her yard, planting flowers. Barbara enjoyed her many pets which at times ranged from dogs and cats to ducks, geese, and even a turkey. One of her greatest enjoyments in life was playing with her grandchildren, then later in life her great grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Killian, two brothers, Leonard Lockhart and Dova “Bud” Lockhart Jr., two sisters, June Harbin and Blanch Matthews.

Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Killian (Max Caddell) of Linton, IN, one sister, Norma Hughes, two grandchildren, Daniel Scott and Jennifer Crosby (Dusten), six great grandchildren, Jaden and Jalen Johnson, Carter, Kynlee, Jackson, and Mikaela Crosby, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Stafford Cemetery at 3:00 PM on Monday, May 22, 2017.   There will be visitation at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN at 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
