Fred Hay Jr, 91, of Linton, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Shakamak Good Samaritan Center in Jasonville, Indiana.
He was born on October 28, 1926, in Sullivan County the son of Fred Hay Sr. and Dorothy Wallace Hay. Fred was an Army veteran in World War II. He was a member of the Linton American Legion Post 22, the Loyal Order of Moose 1434, and a charter member of Faith Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Lillie Mae Richards Hay, brothers Charlie Hay and James Hay, and an infant brother Edward Hay.
Survivors include his wife Helen Hay, daughter Sandra Wolfe of Dugger, step-sons Terry Graves (Jenny) of Linton, Gary Graves of Jasonville, and Kelly Graves of Dugger, sisters Mildred Hovis of Muncie, Betty Bedwell of Carlisle, and Joyce (Tom) Kixmiller of Freelandville, grandchildren Trevor (Tammy) Wolfe, Tami (Brad) Sparks, and Troy (Brandy) Wolfe, ten step-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, Britani (Ryan) Williams, Morgan Wolfe, Olivia Sparks, Owen Sparks, Tyler James, and Alexis James, one great-great-grandchild, Jayde Williams.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Newkirk’s Funeral Home with Pastor Shawn Farris officiating. Interment will follow in Woodward Cemetery located in Dugger. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time on Saturday. A military graveside service will be held by the Sullivan, Shelburn, and Hymera, Legion Posts and VFW.
