Luther E Cullison

Luther E. “Gene” Cullison “Coonie”, 82 of Dugger, IN passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 at Cobblestone Crossing Health Campus in Terre Haute, IN.

            He was born in Switz City, IN on June 21, 1936 the son of Luther Cullison and Martha Jane (Rector) Cullison. Luther was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He retired from Amax Coal Company and ran his own trucking company for many years. Luther and Shirley were married on December 1, 1959. But most of all Luther was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

             He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Jefferson House and Jennie (Chandler) House, one brother, Floyd Cullison and one sister, Phyllis Flynn.

            Survivors include his wife, Shirley (House) Cullison, two sons, Dale Cullison of Dugger, IN and Rodney Cullison of Dugger, IN, one daughter in law, Janis Cullison, one sister Pat Hill (Sam), two grandchildren, Gregory Cullison (Katlin) and Christina Lynn Cullison, and four great grandchildren.          Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Linton, IN. on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 10:00 AM, with Dr. Gene Riker officiating. A visitation will be held Monday, October 29, 2018 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment will follow at Dugger Cemetery in Dugger, IN.
