Mary E (Secrest) Chanley

Mary E. (Secrest) Chanley, 89, of Linton, IN departed to be with her Savior Jesus Christ Sunday April 1, 2018 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton, IN.

            She was born in Greene Co., IN April 11, 1928 the daughter of Robert Elzo Secrest and Martha (Pierson) Secrest.

Mary was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She loved to serve her Lord by singing and speaking at various nursing homes. Her smile and sense of humor was contagious.

            She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Woodrow (Woody) Chanley, son, John Robert Sexton three brothers, Herbert Secrest, Henry Secrest, and Frank Secrest, and a sister, Chloe Gambill.

            Survivors include two brothers, John Secrest of Linton, IN and Raymond Secrest (Shirley) Matoon, IL, a daughter in-law Nancy Sexton of Linton, IN., four grandchildren, Jared Sexton, Thomas E Bailey III, Alisa Espinow (Cesar), and Daniela Rumple (Brian), seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

            Mary was a member of the Howsville Church of God, and was formerly employed at Latex in Sullivan, IN.

            Funeral services will be held at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN, on April 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Phil Bilyeu officiating friends may call 11:00 AM to the time of the service.. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
