Tonita Kay (Pope) Spencer

Tonita Kay Spencer, 75 of Terre Haute, IN passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019 in The Woodlands, TX.
            She was  born in Sullivan, IN May 24, 1943, the daughter of Tony Pope and Minnie (Goodwin) Pope of Cass, IN.
            Kay graduated from Dugger Union High School in 1961. She received a B.S. Degree from Indiana State University and a Master’s Degrees from Indiana University and Western Kentucky University. She taught elementary education in Dugger, Loogootee, and Tell City, Indiana.
            She is preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Mason Spencer.
            Survivors include her husband, John Spencer of Terre Haute, IN, one son, Jeffrey Spencer of Bloomington, IL, one daughter, Amy Hall of Terre Haute, IN, one brother, Dean Pope (Jo Ellen) of The Woodlands, TX, two sisters, Norma Gambill of Shelbyville, IN, and Connie Ringer (George) of Mooresville, IN and four grandchildren, Mallory Spencer, Austin Spencer, Raegan Spencer, and Logan Hall.
            Funeral services will be held at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN, on Friday February 15, 2019 at11:00 A.M., with Brother Nick Moore officiating with visitation on Thursday February 14, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Interment will follow at the Dugger Cemetery in Dugger, IN.
