Vincent Bailey Sr., 81, of Hymera, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.
He was born on June 9, 1934, in Linton, Indiana, the son of Woodrow Bailey and Nellie Acres Bailey. He retired from Crane Naval Base and was a member of Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Hymera.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Carolyn Scott.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Bailey, four sons, Vincent Bailey Jr. of Hymera, Tim Bailey (Marie) of Linton, Justin Bailey (Krista Jeffrey) of Linton, and Michael Bailey of Jasonville, one daughter, Donna Kopic (Robert) of Dana, Indiana, one brother, William Bailey of Hymera, one sister, Beverly Daniels of Arizona, nine grandchildren, Johnathan, Chloe, Laney Bailey, Michael Jr, Mara, Benjamin Bailey, Shkala Bailey, Nicholas Dickerson Jr, and Joshua Dickerson.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Emmanuel Apostolic Church with Rev. James Quick officiating. Military graveside rites will be performed by the Hymera, Sullivan, and Shelburn American Legions and the VFW. Interment will follow in Longs Chapel Cemetery located in Sullivan, Indiana. Friends may call from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family requested that memorial contributions be made to Newkirk’s Funeral Home.
