Bert R. Cazzell

Bert R. Cazzell, 77, of Linton, IN passed away Friday, July 24, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born in Sullivan, IN November 4, 1948, the son of Archie Cazzell and Ruby (Reed) Cazzell. Bert was a SGT. in the Army, retired from General Electric, a Treasurer and Vice President of the Oaktown Conservation Club. He loved trap shooting, loading his own gun shells, golfing, making his own fishing baits and watching TV. Many knew him as a man of few words, until you got him talking then he would talk your ear off, and was actually a secret comedian. He was also known for making the very BEST vegetable soup. He was preceded in death by his parents, also three brothers, Charles, Lester and Jack Cazzell, and a sister, Lula Army. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Janice Campbell Cazzell who he married on September 29, 1973, a daughter, Tonia Cazzell of Linton, IN, two grandchildren; Torey Stephens (Douglas) and Shauna Roark (J. R.), two great grandchildren; Douglas Stephens III, and Jeriah Stephens, and several nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
