Billy Ed Ashburn 86, of Dugger, IN. passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021 at his residence.
He was born in Sullivan, IN December 21, 1934 the son of Charles Lee “Teak” Ashburn and Dessie Alumbaugh Ashburn.
Billy Ed was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War, retired from Pfizer after 32 years and was the Past Commander for 20 years and lifetime member of the Hymera American Legion Post #298.
Survivors include two sons, Kevin Ashburn (Lena) of Dugger, IN. Keith Ashburn of Dugger, IN. two grandchildren, Sara Ashburn, and Kassie Boone (Ryan), and four great-grandchildren, Harley, Layton, and Pantera Hintz, and Carter Boone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, also his wife Mary Louis Grayless Ashburn, a daughter, Terri Thompson, brother Robert Lee Ashburn, and two sisters, Doris Mae Steele and Maude Reynolds.
Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN. with Pastor Tommy Pierson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 2:00PM Wednesday. Burial in the Dugger Cemetery with Military graveside Rites by the Sullivan Co. Honor Guard.
