Carolyn Sue (McCammon) Pirtle

Carolyn Sue “Susy” Pirtle, 77, of Dugger, IN passed away Monday, December 13, 2021 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

            She was born in Sullivan, IN on February 16, 1944 the daughter of Floyd McCammon and Mary B (Clayton) McCammon. Susy was a retired  nurse at Glenburn Nursing Home. She was a member of the Dugger Church of Christ, the Lyons Club and the Home Ec. Club.

            She was preceded in death by her parents, and  her husband of 58 years whom she married on August 19, 1961, Billy E. Pirtle.

            Survivors include a son Mark Pirtle (Belinda) of Dugger, IN, a daughter, Marni Stroud (Lonnie) of Hardinsburg, IN, four grandchildren, Makaylee Gentry, Kaleb Pirtle (Tyra), Taylor Nachreiner (Jacob), Jalen Pigg, and one great grandchild, Layla Grace.

            Funeral services will be held at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Bro. Nick Moore officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 15 2021 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Dugger Cemetery in Dugger, IN.
