David John Hall died at his home in Sullivan, IN; he was 82 years old, and just one month shy of his 83rd birthday. He was a resident of Greene and Sullivan Counties for the past thirty-six years. David was born January 21, 1943, in Fort Wayne to John H. and Mary H. (Spice) Hall. The family spent his early years in Harlan, IN, before moving to Big Lake in Noble County. He graduated Wolf Lake High School in 1961 and then was accepted into the apprentice program of GE in Fort Wayne. He worked for GE in Fort Wayne; Decatur, IN; and Dugger, IN. GE was his sole employer in his adult life. In January 1963, he married Mable Marie Vebert, also a 1961 graduate of WLHS. They lived in the Fort Wayne area and had three sons. David is survived by sons David J., II (Nancy), Des Plaines, IL; Bryan N., Omaha, NE; and Shawn E. (Melody), Fort Wayne. Surviving, also, are two grandsons, David, III, and Jaylan, as well as brothers James M. (Karen) of Apache Junction, AZ, and Daniel P. (Juli) of Columbia City, IN. He was also “Gramps” to Travis Bloom, Morgan (Enlow) Branson, Makia, Madison, and Diesel; Logan Chesterfield, Elsie, and Kira; Dakota (Haley) Chesterfield, Cashton, Dexton, and Jetston; Hadlea Chesterfield; Nathan Pickett, John & Wendy Chesterfield, and Myron & Michele Burks. He loved and cared for them all. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Linton, prior to its closure and most recently of Sullivan First United Methodist Church. The Family wishes to express their gratitude to the other members of Sullivan First United Methodist Church, especially Don and Nancy Hunt, Bill and Jolinda Keane, and Susan Doty and the late Nancy Hartman for their support and assistance to him the past several years. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 31 at Sullivan First United Methodist Church, 107 N Court St., Sullivan, IN 47882. The Family will receive condolences 10:30-11:00; the Service will begin at 11:00. Interment will be at Dugger Cemetery, date and time to be determined.
