Freddie W. Bargar, 80, of Dugger, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at his home in Dugger.
He was born on July 13, 1934, in Sullivan County the son of Harry Dale Bargar and Opal Fern Bargar. He graduated from Union High school in 1951, and attended the Dugger Church of Christ. Fred was a truck driver for 18 years, retired from Peabody Coal Company, was a member of the UMWA and the Teamsters Union. He also was a member of the Dugger Masonic Lodge #721, the Terre Haute Scottish Rite, and the Terre Haute Zorah Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Billy Mark and Gayle Ray Bargar.
Survivors include his wife Myrna Thompson Bargar of 63 years who he married on June 23, 1951, one son, Dennis Bargar (Daphne) of Dugger, three daughters, Carla Medlock (Terry) of Linton, Denise Case (Robert) of Dugger, and Shelly Sweatman (Danny) of Warthen, Georgia, one brother, Dale Lee Bargar (Anita) of Sebring, Florida, one sister, Sierra Sue Hofmann (Jerry) of Seelyville, Indiana, 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 22, 2014, at Newkirk’s Funeral Home with Bro. Nick Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Dugger Cemetery located in Dugger, Indiana. Friends may call from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Masonic service at 7:00 PM on Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Newkirk’s Funeral Home.
