Gladys Irene (Moore) Leonard, 97, of Linton passed away at her residence Monday, February 1, 2016.
She was born in Bucktown, Indiana June 19, 1918, the daughter of William Greene Moore and Manda Elzora Bedwell Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, also her husband Bernard Leonard in 1998, two brothers; Archie Moore, Opal Moore, and three sisters; Elvie Mayfield, Elsie Cullison and Bernice Burch.
Survivors include a daughter ; Connie Maden (William) of Linton, IN a son; Monty Marsh (Judy) of Jasonville, IN, four grandchildren; Melody, Mark, Brian and Lorie, four great grandchildren and one great great grandchildren.
Gladys worked at General Electric for 20 years after that her and her husband Barney started a restaurant on Highway 54 called “Barney’s,” after a few years they went to a small community south of Dugger called Gambill and started another restaurant “The Gambill Country Store”. She loved to latch hook rugs, do word search books, and also go to McDonalds to see everyone.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, February 5, 2016, at the Dugger Cemetery with Rev. Ron Riggs officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were entrusted to Newkirk’s Funeral Home.
