Herman Elvin Scott, 90, of Vicksburg, Indiana passed away peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Breckenridge Health and Rehab surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 20, 1930 in Buchanan, Michigan the son of George Herman Scott and Emma Mary Mae Ruth Scott. Herman was a veteran of the US Navy. He graduated high school and was a retired coal miner from Coal Inc. Herman was a member of the Sullivan Masonic Lodge #263, Hymera American Legion, Scottish Rites of Terre Haute and Shriner. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved the outdoors and taking country drives.
Herman is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Julialene Ann Scott, two sons; Randy Scott and Greg Shotts and two sisters; Pauline Davies and Lulubelle Elkins.
Survivors include five sons; Vince Scott (Teresa) of Terre Haute, Indiana, Ernie Scott (Jane) of Scottsburg, Indiana, Brad Shotts of Bloomington, Indiana, Chris Scott (Julie) of Linton, Indiana and Keith Scott (Karen) of Linton, Indiana, three daughters; Cindy Babb of Minnesota, Beth Duncan of Linton, Indiana and Sam Roberts (Tony) of Vicksburg, Indiana, many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A private burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, Indiana. Arrangements were entrusted to Newkirk’s Funeral Home.
