Jack Edward House

Jack Edward House, 81, of Linton, Indiana was called home to be with his loving wife of 54 years, Billie Joan House, on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 17, 1937 in Sullivan County, Indiana the son of Jefferson B. House and Jennie Chandler House. Jack retired from Amax Coal Company as an electrician and was also a self-taught shoe cobbler at his home. He married Billie Joan Simmons on October 13, 1956 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife of 54 years, Billie Joan Simmons House, one daughter, Jennie Alice House, son-in-law, Raymond Joe Nickle, two sisters; Rosemary House and Melba Cartwright and three brothers; Bill, Bob and Butch House.

Survivors include four daughters, Nancy Loveless (James), Sherri Priest, Susan Cullison (Mark), and Jacqueline Hale (Doug) all of Linton, brothers, John House of Kentucky, sisters; Nancy Hardesty of Linton, Shirley Cullison of Dugger, Indiana, Jennie D. House of Louisville, Kentucky and Mary House of Dugger, Indiana, grandchildren; John Loveless (Amey), Rusty Lee Loveless (Brittany), Ricky Templeton (Amy), Joshua Templeton, Nikki Jerrell (Clint), Michael Nickle (Rebecca), Randy Nickle (Bridgett), Jeremy Nickle and Jason Hale (Amber), great-grandchildren; Bria Stewart (Sean), Jacey, Mylea, Camden, Brayden and Abbigail Loveless, Parker, Trevor, Tucker John, Crystal, Katlyn, Lydia and Bryan Templeton, Dylan and Bentley Jerrell, Braxston, Brooklynn, Peyton, Austin, Randy Joe, Emma and Morgan Nickle, and Alexis and Violet Hale and one great great-grandson, Nolan Carter Stewart .

Jack will always be missed by his family.      

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home with Pastor James “Bo” Simmons Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Dugger Cemetery located in Dugger, Indiana. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 and before the service on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home.
