James R Williams Jr.

James Williams Jr., 86, of Dugger, IN passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Sullivan Co. Community Hospital.

He was born in Linton, Indiana September 9, 1936, the son of James Ross Williams Sr. and Electa Mae Pertuset Williams.

Jim was a pilot and had a love for flying a plane. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #84 in Bloomfield, IN and the Zorah Shrine.

He was preceded in death by his parents also a brother, Eugene Williams, three sisters: Marjorie Demaree, Nettie Hutter and June Defrees.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years Ruth Swan Williams whom he married on January 25, 1957, three sons: Steven R. Williams (Victoria) of Murfreesboro, TN, James Richard Williams (Cinda) of Bloomfield, IN and Michael Williams (Dana) of Dugger, IN, daughter, Kelli J. Miller (Doug) of Bloomfield, IN, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1:00PM Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the Dugger Cemetery with Pastor Scott Chastain officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were entrusted to Newkirk’s Funeral Home.
