Jerry W. "Pod" Alumbaugh

Jerry W. “Pod” Alumbaugh, 80, of Hymera, IN passed away at his residence Friday October 20, 2023.

            He was born in Sullivan, IN July 30, 1943 the son of  Lester Wayne Alumbaugh and Zenophia (McCammon) Alumbaugh.

            Jerry was a retired coal miner from Amax Coal Mine, he also attended Cass Methodist Church.

            He was preceded in death by his parents, also his wife, Connie (Stines) Alumbaugh, a son Billy Alumbaugh, and a  sister, Marilyn Jean McGee.

            Survivors include a son, James Alumbaugh (Carol)  of Shelburn, IN, daughter in-law Teresa Alumbaugh of Shelburn, IN brother, Monty Alumbaugh of Sullivan, IN, a grandson, Michael Hunter (Karie), and several other grand and great grandchildren, four step sons, Sam Collins of Bloomfield, IN, Scott Collins of Linton, IN Darrel Collins of Cass, IN and Ralph T. Collins of Worthington, IN., and several nieces and nephews.

            Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN.  with Rev. James Alumbaugh officiating. Burial in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 until 1:00 PM.
