Jerry A. Secrest

Jerry A. Secrest, 62, of Dugger, IN passed away Saturday,  January 24, 2026 unexpectedly in Dugger, IN.

He was born in Danville, IN January 27, 1963 the son of Larry Secrest and Judy Hoffeditz Secrest.

            He was a beloved son, a devoted husband, loving father, proud Papaw and cherished brother. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Michella.

            Jerry was a family man at heart. He found his greatest joy in time spent with those he loved most and took special pride in being a Papaw. His kindness, steady presence, and love for his family will be forever remembered.

            Jerry retired from Sunrise Coal Co. and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Dugger, IN

            He is survived by his parents, Larry and Judy Secrest of Dugger, IN, his wife,  Michella Pickett, Secrest, his daughter, Larissa Stanton (Scott) of Dugger, IN., and his step daughter Melissa Kozak (Nathan) of Washington State. Jerry was a proud Papaw to his grandchildren , Lynnox, Lyric, and Liam, who brought him endless happiness.

            He is also survived by his brothers and sister: Jeff Secrest (Renita) of Jasonville, IN Greg Secrest (Valarie) of Jasonville, IN; Kevin Secrest (Misty) of Linton, IN; Lisa Secrest (Gilbert Pigg) of Dugger, IN; and Travis Secrest (Jackie) of Sullivan, IN. Jerry will also be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews who loved him very much. Jerry’s memory will live on through the kindness and love he shared with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at the Bible Baptist Church in Dugger, IN with Pastor Joseph Gambill officiating. There will be a visitation from 1:00PM until the services and burial will follow in the Dugger Cemetery.
