June (Chambers) Smith

In loving memory of Audrey June Smith, 88 of Valparaiso, IN whom went to be with her Lord and loved ones January 14, 2022.

            Better known to her family and friends as June. She was born on June 10, 1933 in Sullivan County, IN, the daughter of Marion “Pete” Chambers and Eula (Wright) Chambers. She was a homemaker.

            She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Max Smith, five sons, Michael (1967), Tony (1976), Rusty (2002), Gene (2015), Max (2020) four sisters, Mildred (1967), Margery (1977), Virginia (1997), Becky (2009), her brother, Bobby Frank (2004).

            Survivors include her long-time love, Richard Nicks of Valparaiso, IN, two sons, Jeff Smith, Doug Smith, her daughter, Carrie Williams (Steve) , a brother, Roy Bill Chambers (Susan), nine grandchildren, Chester, Max, Christina, Heather, Shawn, Jeffrey, Tosha, Sarah, Elizabeth, Gene,  fourteen great grandchildren, Elijah, Garrett, Shelby, Larissa, Ryan, Jeffrey Jr., Lily, Jayden, Jeremiah, Landon, Kyla, Justin Jr., Jax, and one great-great grandchild, Antonio.

            Funeral services will be held at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN on Thursday January 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM, with Brother J.B. Smith officiating. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM to the time of the service. Interment will follow in Woodward Cemetery in Dugger, IN.
