Kenneth R Bohnert, 89, of Dugger, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at Glenburn Home in Linton, Indiana.
He was born on March 8, 1930, in Gilmore, Indiana, the son of Dennis Bohnert and Margaret Coleman Bohnert. Kenneth was a retired coal miner with Peabody Coal Company. He served in the Navy. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Dugger, Indiana. Kenneth was also an avid Cubs fan and coon hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Joe Ray Bohnert, and grandson Tanner Joe Bohnert, eight brothers, and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn Griffith Bohnert, son Allan (Connie) Bohnert of Dugger, daughter Kathy (Myron) Goodman of Dugger, seven grandchildren, Marci (Dan) Gamble of Linton, Talli (Tim) Meek of Linton, Troy (Barrette) Goodman of Linton, Josh (Tara) Bohnert of Worthington, Michael Bohnert, LaTasha Ball of Linton, Kaylee (Cody) Bohnert of Dugger, thirteen great-grandchildren, Abbi and Spencer Gamble, Isabel, Grant, and Truman Meek, Trey, Cassi, and Casen Goodman, Austin and Olivia Bohnert, Eli Bohnert, Briana Jones, and Wyatt Ball, and a special nephew Ernest (Bussie) Bohnert Jr.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 14, 2020, at Newkirk’s Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Hammond officiating. Interment will follow in Dugger Cemetery located in Dugger, Indiana. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time on Friday.
