Kermit Edwin Smith

Kermit Edwin Smith, 76, of Linton, IN passed away at his residence Wednesday, June 9, 2021.

            He was born in Sullivan, IN October 21, 1944 the son of Kermit E. Smith and Nora Francis “Cole” Smith.

            Edwin Was an Air Force Veteran, a member of the Linton American Legion Post #22, and a Chapter 99 DAV.

            He was preceded in death by his parents.

            Survivors include a companion of 22 years, Teena Cox, two sons, Kermit Smith III (Anita) of Twin Lake, MI, Tommy Smith of Linton, IN, a daughter, Crystal Smith of Maine, two brothers, Kent Smith (Mary) of Sullivan, IN, Hallie Bruce Smith (LeeAnn) of Dugger, IN, four grandchildren, Brian, Carol Ann, Nathan, Christopher and one great grandchild.

            Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Rev. David Cox officiating. Linton Honor Guard will perform Military Graveside Rites. Interment will follow in the Dugger Cemetery in Dugger, IN. Arrangements were entrusted to Newkirk’s Funeral Home.
