Loran R Mejean

                        Rev. Loran R. Mejean Sr., 94, of Carlisle, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.

            He was born on June 9, 1925, in Gary, Indiana, the son of Frank Mejean and Mary Jane Parks Mejean. He was a member of the Linton American Legion Post #22 and Dugger American Legion Post #224.  Loran was the pastor of the Pleasantville Apostolic Church of Christ.

            He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Juanita Williams Mejean in 1998, daughter Denice Padgett, brothers David, Charles, John, Paulie, Roger, and Frank Mejean Jr, sisters Betty Kreischer and Linda Blaize.

Survivors include sons Elmer Mejean of Ellettsville, Frank Mejean (Tonie) of Carlisle, Loran R. Mejean Jr (Claudette) of Dugger, Brian Mejean of Pleasantville, Robert Mejean ( Robyn Ramey) of Pleasantville, daughters Gerrie Lynn Hayes (Marvin) of Titus Alabama and Margo Ferguson (Ron) of Cedar Park, Texas, daughter-in-law Sandy Mejean of Pleasantville, thirteen grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

            Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 21, 2020, at Newkirk’s Funeral Home with Rev. Loran Mejean officiating. Interment will follow in Dugger Cemetery located in Dugger, Indiana with military graveside rites by the Linton American Legion.  A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, February 21, 2020, at Newkirk’s Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requested that memorial contributions be made to Newkirk’s Funeral Home to help with the cost of services.
