Max Allen Smith

Max Allan Smith , 67 of Valparaiso, IN passed away Sunday August 9, 2020 at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso, IN.

            He was born in Sullivan County, IN  on January 5, 1953 the son of Max Smith and June (Chambers) Smith.

 Max was a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church. He worked as a custodian in the Porter County School Corp for thirty years.

            He was preceded in death by his father Max Smith,  four brothers, Tony, Eugene, Rusty, and Michael Smith

            Survivors include his wife Judy (Ward) Smith, his mother, June Smith, his step father, Richard Nicks, one son, Max Smith III (Genita) of South Haven, IN, one daughter, Heather Ann Smith of Portage, IN, two brothers, Douglas Smith of Portage, IN, Jeff Smith (Daryl) of South Haven, IN, one sister, Carrie Williams (Steve) of Valparaiso, IN, one granddaughter, Shelby, one great grandson, Antonio, and two uncles, Bob Deckard of Sullivan, IN, Roy Bill Chambers (Susan) of Dugger, IN

            A graveside service will be held at Woodward Cemetery in Dugger, IN Friday August 14, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. J.B. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodward Cemetery in Dugger, IN. Arrangements were entrusted to Newkirk’s Funeral Home.
