Nolan R. Cox , 84, of Carlisle, IN passed away Friday, January 16, 2026 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born in Carlisle, IN October 27, 1941 the son of Vern Cox and Lois Bedwell Cox. Nolan was a Vietnam Army Veteran, and a retired operator at the Fairbanks Breed Power Plant. He also was a member of the Sullivan Masonic Lodge, and the Zorah Shrine. He was preceded in death by his parents, also his wife, Sandra Smith Cox in 2021. Survivors include two sons, Nolan Michael Cox (Mandi) of Terre Haute, IN, Todd Cox (Beth) of Lakeland, FL, a daughter, Kelly Roth (Rex)of Bicknell, IN, brother Richard Cox (Terry) of Carlisle, IN, sister, Anita Duguay (Danny) of Jasonville, IN, four grandchildren; Ethan, Michaela, Cameron, and Rhys. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be 1:00PM, Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Newkirk’s Funeral Home, with Pastor Curt Bedwell officiating. Burial in the Indian Prairie Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the Sullivan Co. Honor Guard. Newkirk’s Funeral Home and staff was honored to assist with arrangements
