Portia Kay Swiger, 68, of Sullivan, IN passed on Saturday June 8, 2019 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.
She was born on November 18, 1950 in Sullivan, IN the daughter of Leslie Cox and Doris (Jackson) Cox.
Portia was a retired C.N.A. at Freelandville Community Home. She was a member of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church and Hymera Helpers Home E.C. Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack J. Swiger.
Survivors include one son, Gregory Swiger of Sullivan, IN, two daughters, Cammie Griffith (Jeff) of Sullivan, IN, Carrie Bohnert of Wilford, IN, four brothers, John Cox (Tina) of Dugger, IN, Jammy Cox (Christie) of Linton, IN, Bob Jackson (Mary) of North Carolina, Randy Jackson (Eddie) of North Carolina, six sisters, Daphne Bargar (Denny) of Dugger, IN, Marsha Turpin of Dugger, IN, Linda Lucas (Dave) of Warsaw, IN, Robbie Jackson of Linton, IN, Kim Jackson of Jasonville, IN, Janice Jackson of Monroe City, IN, seven grandchildren, Weston Ray Inman, Wyatt Inman, Ali Swiger, Hope Swiger, Shyanne Seaton, Arthur Swiger, Wencelyn Swiger, and one great grandchild, Lyla Kuppler.
A memorial service will be held at Pleasantville United Methodist Church Monday June 17, 2019 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with Pastor Cathy Parker officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM in Pleasantville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the funeral home. Arrangements were entrusted to Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN.
