Raymond (Sonny) Max Reynolds

            Raymond Max “Sonny” Reynolds, 61, of Dugger, IN passed away  Wednesday, June 4, 2025 in Terre Haute, IN.

            He was born  on December 30, 1963 the son of Raymond H. Reynolds and Esse N. (Quillen) Reynolds.

            He attended Dugger schools and graduated from Union High School in 1983. Sonny was a fifth-generation coal miner and worked at Black Beauty Coal Mine in Farmersburg, IN and the Power Plant. He  was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and also attended Whosoever Will Church in Dugger, IN. He enjoyed fishing, hunting , working on vehicles, and was an avid outdoorsman. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, friends and especially his pets.

         He was married to Rondi (Goodin) Reynolds on February 19, 1983

            He was preceded in death by his parents,  a son, Evan Reynolds, two brothers-in-law, Jerry Wrin and Rod Ranard; and his beloved dogs, Boss, Jake, and Zeke.

            He is survived by Rondi Reynolds, son, Ryan Reynolds (Lindsey), daughter, Madison Reynolds, and his three grandchildren; Tristan, Briar and Hannah Reynolds, sisters; Melissa Ranard, Belinda Wrin, Amy Snodgrass (Steve), Elizabeth “Liz” Weathers (Steve); and his two dogs, Nova and Freya, his cat Tisdale; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

            A Celebration of life will be  held 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Dugger Shelter house. Burial will be at  the Dugger Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Newkirk’s Funeral Home.
