Robert Hardesty Obituary

 

                        Robert G. Hardesty, 89, of Pleasantville, IN passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Sullivan, IN.

            He was born in Sullivan, IN September 2, 1931 the son of Vertis Hardesty and Mary Sue Boone Hardesty.

            Bob was a Korean War Marine Veteran, and retired Operating Engineer Local #841, and Peabody Coal Mine, also a member of the original Indian Prairie Church in  Carlisle, IN.

            He was preceded in death by his parents, also  a daughter, Betty Thompson, brother, Richard “Dickie” Hardesty and a infant grandson.

            Survivors include one son, Robert Jason Hardesty of Shelburn, IN, three daughters, Sue Souders of Linton, IN, Jeannine Denman (Ralph) of Dugger, IN, Angie Hardesty of Blackwood, New Jersey, two brothers, Morrison Hardesty of Valparaiso, IN, Leslie Ray Hardesty of Linton, IN, sister, Susie Horton of Oaktown, IN, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

            Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN. Burial in the Mt Moriah Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera Legion Posts and the Sullivan VFW Post.

            Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until services Saturday.
