Vannie R. Robertson, 72, of Carlisle, IN, passed away at 11:42AM, Monday, May 19, 2014.
He was born in Sullivan Co. IN August 3, 1941 the son of Ralph J. Robertson, and Lillie Plummer Robertson.
Vannie Graduated from Linton High School in 1960, retired from Hawthorne Coal Mine, was a member of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church, and was a member of the UMWA. He enjoyed horses, having raced and trained Standardbreds, also trained Belgian pulling horses.
He was preceded in death by his parents also one brother, Jim Robertson.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years Lana Bedwell Robertson, whom he married on September 21, 1963, two sons, Scott Robertson (McKinley) of Dugger, IN, Dusty Robertson of Bucktown, IN, one daughter, Dee Secrest (Joe) of Bucktown, IN,7 grandchildren, Austin, Devyn, Carter, Westin, Kane, Tonya (Matt), Courtney, three great grandchildren, Zayden, Graci and Sophie.
Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN with Pastor Dwight Gould officiating. Visitation is from 11:00 AM until services Thursday. Interment will follow in the Morris Chapel Cemetery.
