Vera L (Moore) Cook

Vera L. Cook, 91 resided in Sullivan and grew up and graduated in Dugger, IN. She passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the Sullivan Co Community Hospital.
She was born in Sullivan, IN September 26, 1923 the daughter of Mack Moore and Jesse Goodman Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; Billy Jean Cook August 3, 1997.
Vera’s passion in life was her family.  In her younger years she loved camping with her late husband and family.
Vera also enjoyed word search puzzles, watching birds, squirrels, and traffic.  She also loved her dog “Bassie, her little girl.” She was a member of the Hickory United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son; Billy M. Cook of Sullivan, IN, one daughter; Mary Jo Butler (Billy Joe Sr.) of Sullivan, IN, two grandchildren Billy Joe Butler Jr (Chelsea), and Brandi Phegley (Josh), two great grandchildren; Sadie Butler and Brylee Phegley.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN with Pastor Kenneth Coffman officiating. Burial followed in the Hickory Cemetery.
