William Lewis Compton

            William Lewis Compton ,64 of Dugger, Indiana passed away May 12, 2023 at his residence.

            William was born August 8, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois the son of John Compton and Georgiana (DePatie) Compton. He was a retired spotter for Norfolk Southern Railroad in Chicago, Illinois and a member of the Teamsters Local 710.  

            He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, John Compton.

            Survivors include his wife, Julie (Rauen) Compton, three sons, Michael Compton (April) of Paxton, Illinois, Billy Compton of Houston, Texas, Andrew Kuchis-Compton (Nicole Ward) of Lyons, Indiana, two daughters, Jeannine Compton of Paxton, Illinois, Ashley Compton of Dugger, Indiana, a brother, Ed Compton (Levon) of Nashville, Tennessee, a sister, Joanne Compton of Harrison, Arkansas, several nieces and nephews, and eight grandchildren, Kendall, Hailey, Macy, Jesse, Lily, Carly, Ava, and Burk.

            Funeral services will be held at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, Indiana at 1:00 PM on Saturday May 20, 2023. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, the family has chosen cremation.
