William Ernest Thompson

William Ernest Thompson, 76, of Paxton, IN passed away Friday,  April 14, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Danville, Georgia June 3, 1946 the son of Linton Thompson, and Ellen Thompson.  

Ernie was an Army Veteran, he retired from Columbia Enamel in Terre Haute and later worked at Wrights Salvage in Paxton, IN.   He was a member of the Sullivan American Legion Post #139 and the Sullivan VFW Post #2459.

            He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Billie Figg Thompson also three brothers; Hembree, Charles, and Joe Thompson, and a sister, Juanita Abney.

Survivors include one son; William E. “Pete” Thompson (JJ) of Bloomfield, IN, one step son, Jim Ridge of Lewis, IN and four grandchildren; Kari Gerth, Kelly Notter, Karlie Thompson and Cole Thompson and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 20, 2023 a Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN with Pastor Trevis Pinkston officiating. Burial in the Woodward Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday.
