Cindy (Mason) Lucas 63 went to be with the Lord peacefully on March 27, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Sullivan, IN on September 3, 1953 to Eloise (Boyd) Mason and Lloyd “Cockeye” Mason. She is preceded in death by her father. Her survivors include the mother, Eloise Mason, a sister Sheilah (Lanier) Phillips, her husband of 44 years, Ronnie Lucas, a daughter Delaney (Scott) Kent, two grandchildren, Brady Kent and Ella Kent, who were the love of her life, and nieces and nephews.

If you were fortunate enough to have known Cindy, you would know what a special person she was. Her attributes were many and her faults were few. She was always looking for ways to help others, right up until the end. Heaven only knows the lives she has touched while on this earth. She was deeply spiritual and loved her God, family, and friends with all her heart. You would be hard pressed to find someone who set a better example or lived the Christian life with any more devotion. Our comfort is in knowing she is walking those streets of gold with Jesus right now.

She worked as a hair dresser and massage therapist but her passion was healthy cooking. She loved to teach her “Healthy Cooking 101” class. She was also the co-founder of Dogwood Lane. She loved to sew and quilt. She was a creative artist who made unique jewelry and gifts in a multitude of mediums. She was a wonderful cook and loved entertaining guests. She will be deeply missed by her family and her many friends.

“For instance, we know that when these bodies of ours are taken down like tents and folded away, they will be replaced with resurrection bodies in heaven. God made, not handmade.” 2 Corinthians 5:1 the Message.

At her request, there will be no public visitation or service. You can honor her life by sending a gift to Compassion International at www.Compassion.com.

Arrangements were entrusted to Newkirk’s Funeral Home.
