                        Wilma Hardesty-Jerrell, 66, of Linton, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute.

            She was born on February 19, 1951, in Sullivan the daughter of Laurel Hardesty and Elaine Phillips Hardesty. Wilma graduated from Union High School in 1969, and Indiana State with a Home Ec teaching degree, two masters degrees, and was a registered dietician. She attended Mt. Moriah Church and Faith Community Church. She worked at Glenburn Home in Linton and Mary Sherman Hospital in Sullivan. Wilma enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking, sewing, cooking, and candy-making.  Wilma loved Facebook, and time with friends, family, and former classmates.  She loved antiques and had been a Longaberger Basket representative. 

            She was preceded in death by her parents, and caring in-laws David, Roy, Jim, and Joe.

Survivors include her devoted caregiver and husband, Eddie Jerrell, who she married on October 4, 1986, a brother, Larry Hardesty (Elaine) of Carlisle, two sisters, Sandra Henderson of Dugger, and Ruth Swan (Larry) of Fair Oaks, IN, nieces and nephews, Joyce Axsom (Gary), Norman Henderson (Rusti), Bill Henderson, Jill Snyder (Brent), Matthew Hardesty, Laura Brown (Ryan), Clint Swan (Kim), Star Meyer (Tom), and Mitchell Swan, caring in-laws, Arthur, Robert, Larry, Donald, Mike, Betty, Bill, and Dan,  and special friends Donna Roof, Nodie Jerrell, Lynnette Baker, Susan Doty, and Karol Kirschner.

            Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Newkirk’s Funeral Home with James Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made in Wilma’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
