Eugene R. Smith, 57 of Portage, IN passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015. He was born January 4, 1958 in Brazil, IN to Max and June (Chambers) Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father and three brothers, Tony L. Smith, Russell W. Smith, and Michael R. Smith.
Survivors include his mother, June Smith of Valparaiso, three brothers, Max Smith (Judy) of Valparaiso, Jeff Smith of Valparaiso, and Douglas Smith of Portage, one sister, Carrie Williams (Steve) of Valparaiso, one daughter, Elizabeth Ann “Lizzy” Lepsicer of Kansas City, MO one son, Eugene Michael Burden of Grand Rapids, MI, for grandchildren, Christopher Lee, Isaish Eugene and Arianna Frankie Agee, Angel Marie Burden and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN at 1:00 PM with bro J.B. Smith officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 PM until services on Thursday. Interment will follow in the Woodard Cemetery.
