Iris G (Phillippe) Carrithers

Iris G. (Phillippe) Carrithers, 98, of Pleasantville, Indiana passed away at the Linton Nursing and Rehab Center on May 20, 2015.
She was born on February 13, 1917, to Maude Crouse Phillippe and Roland Phillippe. She was one of seven siblings whom have all passed.  She was married for 53 years to Thomas Carrithers before his passing on April 26, 1994.
She was a “happy happy homemaker” who thoroughly enjoyed company and doing for others. She will be truly missed by family and many friends and neighbors.
Iris is survived by three nieces, Brenda Shatto (Jerry) of Vincennes, Sharon Saucerman of Vincennes, Dorothy Nicholson of Wheatland, three nephews, Robert Phillippe (Judy) of Bicknell, Kenneth Phillippe (Beverly) of Missouri, and Paul Sprinkle (Sheryl) of Mississippi.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Rollie and Norman Phillippe, and four sisters, Kathryn Walters, Dottis Sprinkle, Georgia Phillippe, and Mae Phillips.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Newkirk’s Funeral Home with Rev. Harley Archer officiating. Interment will follow in Mt Moriah Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until service time on Saturday.
